Joining us this month are Music for Connection, a Brighton & Hove-based social enterprise that has been running community music projects in the city and beyond since 2013. They offer participatory music as a tool for connection in a variety of community-based settings.
They are working as part of the Ageing Well Partnership and through this funding are offering free dementia-friendly interactive music sessions to groups supporting people who are experiencing memory challenges. This is an interactive and responsive music session which responds to the needs and interests of the group. They bring a range of instruments and provide a safe musical space for connection. Their facilitators have extensive experience making music with people experiencing memory challenges in a range of community, health and social care settings.
